Our Approach
Beyond Strength recognizes there is not a one-size-fits-all program or methodology. We believe all lifters are unique and we stand firm that all lifters deserve coaching that caters to their needs and personal goals. Using submaximal training methods is a staple at Beyond Strength. This allows the lifter to challenge themselves in training, but still lift efficiently and safely. The goal is not only to make you stronger but to also make you a GREAT powerlifter.
Our services
There are a number of ways for us to work together. Take a look at some of the services below. Not sure what exactly you’re looking for? Check anything on the form and we can chat about it on a call!
Online Programming
For those that want a more scientific approach to their training. Training consists of science based principles that are applied to accommodate the lifter's needs and to ensure improvement in both the biomechanics of a movement and overall strength of the athlete.

In-person technique
For those who value one-on-one coaching. This service will allow an experienced coach to analyze and refine your technique. It doesn’t matter if you have any prior experience with barbell lifting, it's important for us to teach you the proper mechanics so you're able to lift in a safe manner. An in-person technique session has many benefits and makes the transition to programming a lot easier. It teaches the proper mechanics of the Squat, Bench, and Deadlift for both Powerlifters and Non-Powerlifters. Those who compete or plan on competing will have proper understanding of what is acceptable in the gym and a competition setting and the rules that come along with it.
— $120 per in-person evaluation*
meet day planning
For those that are competing in powerlifting competitions that we can’t attend, but still want to take the advantage of our expertise on meet day. Lifters can set up a video conference call to discuss past meets, go over recent footage of their heaviest lifts leading up to their competition, and discuss what would be the proper game plan to ensure meet-day success. Included in the game plan are warmups, attempts, and projected third attempts.
— $50 per meet
meet day handling
For those who want in person coaching for a powerlifting competition. Meet day there are several variables that can potentially have a disadvantageous effect on the lifter. From keeping stress levels at a minimum, adjusting attempt selection, loading plates, timing warmups accordingly, and having real time feed-back between attempts. Having someone experienced who has been through countless competitions, both as a coach and a lifter can have an incredible impact on your performance.

Prior to working with us we require video footage of a 1 Rep Max for all 3 lifts with competition standards. Video should be no older than 2 weeks old to ensure an accurate depiction of where the lifter is. We are looking for a squat with proper depth similar to what is acceptable in competition, a fully locked out deadlift without straps, and a bench press with a competition pause. If you’ve never done this before, don’t worry we’ll help you out!

It is suggested that we have our lifters send back their programs so we can make modifications. We understand that lifters can get sick, have trouble commuting to the gym or have personal things they have to prioritize. That being said we do our best to communicate and work around our athletes schedule to help them continue to progress regardless of the circumstances
